Hello one and all!
This morning, I got up at 4am with the love of my life and got a taxi to the airport. He went through security, I cried a little bit, and I went home after a breakfast of Dunkin’ Coffee.
But the two weeks predating this were probably the happiest of my entire life. Bailey was here for all of those two weeks, and after not seeing him for almost three months I couldn’t have been happier.
We did a lot of tourist stuff in Málaga, including the interactive music museum, which had all types of instruments from the dawn of time, some of which you could play! It was also cool that Bailey and I were the only people in the entire museum, so we had it to ourselves.
Bailey also really enjoyed the cheapness and interesting qualities of the food in Spain. His favorite by far was fried cuttlefish or fried baby squid. We went to this tapas place called Pepa y Pepe three times or so, and ate cuttlefish, Spanish tortilla, and croquets. We also ate ice cream a lot, including a waffle topped with ice cream and sugar.
It sucked because I still had to go to school when he was here, so I was still a little preoccupied with homework and everything. We still managed to cook a lot of adorable couple breakfasts, including avocado toast with scrambled eggs and Iberian ham. We drank lots of homemade tinto de verano and just enjoyed each other’s company. He also watched Zootopia with me :)

This past weekend we went to Seville, which is the largest and capital city of Andalusia with my Chilean friend Mariana. The trip was all her idea and I am so happy she invited us to go! We used blablacar for the first time, which is a European long distance ride sharing website that connects people that need to get to a certain place with drivers that are already going with open seats. We left Málaga with this older Spanish man who wouldn’t for the love of God shut up. And because Mariana’s first language is Spanish, the poor girl had to deal with him.
We finally got to our hostel and it was the nicest hostel I have ever stayed in during my time in Europe, which was surprising because it was 15 euro a night! All three of us were in a mixed gender 10 bedroom dorm. It was Bailey’s first hostel experience, and he had a blast. We made pizza that night for all of us.

We saw a bunch of cool stuff, including the Real Alcazar de Sevilla, Las Setas de Sevilla, the gigantic gothic cathedral, the Plaza de España, the University of Sevilla, a bunch of palaces and interesting buildings. Seville is really large, and we did 11 miles of walking on Saturday. In the pouring rain, which made it so much worse.
During the Plaza de España, all three of us paid for a little rowboat and rowed around this adorable moat and ran into lots of people and genuinely had a great time.

Before Bailey and I went to Seville, I took him to Benalmádena, which is a smaller coastal town about 20 minutes south of Málaga by train. We did the Teleférico Benalmádena, which are massive cable cars that go up from the sea, 700 meters to the top of a mountain. There’s a lot of really cool views and Bailey and I took lots of photos. Honestly, I took lots of photos of him and of us. We also went to the beach and actually got into the water, which of course was freezing, but we can say we did it.
This is a horrible summary of all the amazing time we spent together but I am also getting ready to get on a plane to London, England tomorrow! So I am scrambling to print boarding passes and pack and make sure my two other friends and I have the best time every for the week I will be in Great Britain. This is right before exams so I am going to have to do some reading while we are there, but I am sure it’ll be fine.
These past two weeks were incredibly wonderful and I will remember them for the rest of my life.
I love you, sweetheart! Can't wait to be home with you again.
